National Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week

The best way to learn from one's experience about drug abuse... to learn from the doctors who specialize in its treatment.

The College of Physical Therapy led the medical center in the observance of the National Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week (November 9 – 15) through a symposium themed: “Pamilyang Nagkakaisa Laban sa Droga.” A large body of students, faculty and administration officials attended the two-hour symposium at the Room 401 of the College of Physical Therapy.

Guest speakers were staff members of the Department of Health’s Tagaytay Treatment and Rehabilitation Center. Dr. Carmelita Belgica and Dr. Ronnie Del Mundo talked to the audience of the nature of drug addiction, the characteristics of people who are dependent upon them, and the steps in preventing the spread of this menace to society. Students were given tips on how to counteract peer pressure and using the inherent factors in this social disease.
