Search for Outstanding UERM CPT Alumni Award now open


OUTSTANDING UERM CPT ALUMNI AWARD

1.Call For Nomination

The UERM College of Physical Therapy is now accepting nominations for the Outstanding Alumni Award. This award recognizes the excellence and achievement of our former students both in the field of physical therapy and rehabilitation and in their service to the community.

2.General Requirements for Nomination

a.3 copies of duly accomplished nomination forms.
b.Proof of outstanding achievements
copy of certificates, plaque, citation, published articles , awards or recognition
c.updated curriculum vitae
d.3 2”X2” colored photo attached to each nomination forms

3.Awards Criteria
a.Professional Leadership
academe, physical therapy facilities
b.Outstanding Contributions to the Community
civic, philantrophic, public service
c.Outstanding Achievement in the fieldof physical therapy
research, scholarly activities
d.Positive Influence in thegrowth and development of UERM- CPT
volunteering time and talent for advancing the mission-vision of CPT.
e.Moral Integrity
no pending case or conviction ( administrative, civil or criminal case)
f.Able to accept the award in person
g.Not a current member of the faculty or staff of UERM-CPT.

4.Selection Process
a.The Committee on Awards is primarily responsible for the facilitation of nomination and selection process.
b.After the call for nomination, the Committee on awards will collate and summarize all nomination papers of all nominees.
c.The Committee will be responsible for the verification of supporting documents and other information relevant to the qualification of the nominees. If necessary, the committee will confer with key referees and informants concerning the nominees’ records and other qualifications.
d.The members of the committee will meet en banc for the selection of awardees.
5.Alumni Awards includes:
a.Community Service Award
An alumnus that has made tremendous impact in his/her advocacy to assist or provide allied health services in the community.

b.Outstanding Alumni in the Field of the Academe
An alumnus involved in the field of education, locally and abroad and was able to contribute in the advancement of physical therapy as a course.

c.Professional Advancement Award
An alumnus that underwent additional certifications, courses or degrees and contributed directly or indirectly in the improvement of physical therapy as a profession.

d.Outstanding Alumni in the Field of Research
An alumnus that completed a research related to the practice of physical therapy that has received citations, recognitions or awards locally or abroad.

e.Outstanding Alumni in the Clinical Practice
An alumnus that has been recognized as the epitome of an ideal physical therapist in clinical practice.

f.Most Outstanding Batch Award
A batch that has showed great concern and has given significant financial contributions in the continuing improvement of the college

g.Outstanding Alumni Award (“The Juan” Award)
The highest recognition and award given to the alumnus that has pursued the mission and vision of the UERMMMC College of Physical Therapy and performed exceptionally in practice of physical therapy as a profession.

New Physical Therapists

The following UERMMMC PT Batch 2007 graduates passed the recent PT/OT Board Exams given last July 2007. Current UERMPTAA president Rongie Bren Magdangal was overwhelmed with emotion upon seeing their names in the newspapers as his former students now become his colleagues ready to help him in the alumni association. Dean Arnel V. Malaya off to the USA


The dean of the UERMMMC College of Physical Therapy , Dr. Arnel V. Malaya will be going to the USA from July 27 - August 10, 2007. Dean Malaya will be meeting with his former classmates and some of the alumni of the College of PT now based in the United States to let them know the scheduled events & activities as well as invite the PT alumni to actively support & participate in the 20th anniversary celebration of the UERMMMC College of PT in 2008. Our beloved dean - Dr. Arnel V. Malaya was chosen as one of the 50 most outstanding alumni of UERMMMC Medical Center in celebration of its Golden Jubilee. The recognition ceremonies for the 50 Most Outstanding UERMMMC Alumni will be held at 5 o'clock in the afternonn, June 14, 2007 , Thursday at the UE Theatre, UE Manila Campus. Congratulations Sir!

Preferred Alumni Homecoming Month/Date

Dear UERMMMC College of Physical Therapy Alumni,

The College of Physical Therapy will be celebrating its 20th Foundation Anniversary come 2008. In this regard we are planning several activities including an alumni homecoming. May we request each of our dear alumni to reply to this post by clicking comment/s after this post & leave your comments/reply so that we can make a head count of your preferred month & day of the homecoming. December 2007, January 2008 or February 2008 are some of the suggested dates because it is the usual time that our alumni come home to visit their family & friends in the Philippines. UERMMMC Golden Jubilee search for 50 Most Outstanding Alumni- Call for Nominations

UERMMMC shall honor 50 most outstanding alumni of the Colleges of Medicine, Nursing & Physical Therapy. Graduates who have achieved over & above the rest of the alumni in the health field & other endeavors including public & government service, military service, politics, education, research, professional & health practice, advocacy, etc.

Criteria include leadership, service to people & country, wellness & sacrifice & integrity.

College acquires new equipment







The UERMMMC College of Physical Therapy recently bought a new Sony videocam & a Casio digital camera. They will be used for the audio-visual needs of the college. These equipment were purchased using the funds contributed by the PT alumni United States chapter. Thank you for your generous contribution.
