Carolfest 2007

Last December 12, 2007 the Mu Lambda Fraternity and Sorority sponsored the 33rd Annual Carol Fest held at the UERM Gym from 6:00 – 9:00 PM. Contenders had included the College of Nursing (Nursing Ensembles), the different year levels in the College of Medicine (excluding the interns) and the College of Physical Therapy chorale group now named, “Hymns and Symphony.” Medicine 2009 Won 1st place, with the College of Nursing and College of Physical Therapy garnering 2nd and 3rd places respectively.

Jingle Bell Calypso, Tuloy na Tuloy pa rin ang Pasko, and Carol of the Bells were among the choice pieces sang beautifully by the contestant groups. On the homegrown side of things, Hymns and Symphony rocked the audience with their rendition of “Noche Buena” by Levi Celerio (the contest piece) and quelled the atmosphere with “The First Noel.”

This semester, the PT Chorale group was recognized as an official College of PT club. Organized by Ms. Archelle Jane Callejo and Ms. Josephine Mata, its members now boast of 3 interns, 3 faculty, 1 freshman, 12 3rd year, and 3 2nd year students. The group also performed at the UERM Silver Jubilarians Convocation Ceremonies and the 9th Dr. Potenciano D. Baccay Memorial Lecture on the 19th and on the Silver Jubilarians Fellowship Night on the 20th of December.
